"Wear your jewel with pride"- a Coronial previlage!
If you're an XY chromosomes holder jewelleries are the last thing you would die for,if Im not mistaken.Apart from those පංචායුධයs and සුරයs we used to bite out when we were toddlers, for most of us wearing pretty shiny metal pieces is a rarity.Well Im not going to promote ස්වර්ණමහල් or anything in paragraphs to come but it's about appreciating the jewel we men got!
Beards! Yeah just feel it if you got a one.Beards are the eternal sign of virility and masculinity, loved and grown by generations spanning from prehistoric era to this very moment. For men its a much needed modification for their prepubertal funny looking faces.Nowadays its merely a fashion and we dont think beyond that very often. But if we run through the history of mankind, our respect for the facial hair will invariably ascend.
In most ancient eastern cultures, beards were venerated at a higher level than almost anywhere else. Long beards stood for dignity and wisdom, strength and courage. In Sri Lanka we are familiar with many king faces who had well grown beards; Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe,The great Parakramabahu,Rajasinghe II and many more.this is often the case in India too, maharajas can smile cuz Im talking about you guys.
In Celtic tribes, for example, the beard was so revered that Otto the Great swore by his beard whenever he had something of great seriousness and importance to say.As the Vikings explored, raided and traded their way across Europe and other areas of the world, they did so with some of the most legendary beards in history. They were advanced seafarers, and they used their beards to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents, wherever they went. Recent archaeological discoveries show that the Vikings took great pride in their appearance and their personal grooming, and didn’t just let their facial hair run wild.
In ancient Egypt, the beard was regarded as a symbol of wealth, power, and importance. In fact, the richest and most powerful men during those times would have their beards dyed, and plaited with interwoven gold thread.During the middle ages, for example, touching another man’s beard was downright offensive, and could even be grounds for a duel!
Now you know that we got some seriously valuable jewellery with us right guys? Since we're homebound these days thanks to corona,we got freedom to wear our jewel with pride.Give your razors a rest, imagine yourself as a mighty celtic warrior or a viking, let your beards grow.Corona wil be over soon and your razors will get busy in no time.Enjoy the previlage before its too late!
