Expected but unexpected
‘I need a break’👈 this is a usual utterance of many a mates that I come across in the university.😥 Sunken in a pool of work, quarreling with lectures, assignments exams and practical theoretical work a break would have been the ultimate expectation of any undergraduate😢😢☺️☺️. So was the same with me and more than anyone in my batch as I was a twenty hour into seven person even working in the week break spending both the days to have a filled purse.💰💰💵💵
‘We need to buy a sanitizer’ my brother who lives in the same boarding room with me, came shouting. Though I was informed what is happening in china, I was not so concerned of it.😅 Thinking this unseen enemy would not haunt our country too. Anyway owe to my brother’s entreaty I went to the nearby supermarket to purchase a sanitizer and a few essentials, in case a shutdown is imposed.🛒 But I did not take much heed. As usual I went to university the following day. But by the afternoon it was announced that all universities will be closed for two weeks. Still that did not bothered me much.🙃 Anyway I was happy that at least there is a two week break. On my minds list of things to accomplish were falling in drop down menus. 😲
I planned to do more extra tuition classes for some of the classes that I have missed, I thought of going to the driving learners continuously in the two weeks, I had to take a medical report for the driving exam, I dreamt of making more videos for my youtube channel and a lot more.🤭🤭 More even that I could not complete in 14 days. So the very next day I arranged an extra classes for tuition kids at Gampola. The class was done as usual. I was happy that I received some extra money.💯💵 But on way to boarding place I got some messages not to roam around but to stay indoors. My body felt that something unpleasent was happening around. But Alas! I can not stop this, I have pay the boarding fees, the loan and more; said my mind sharp and hard. 👦☝️
‘The hotel in front of the boarding place will be closed tomorrow for a day’ said my brother in fear. That was the place where we took our meals. A stroke hit my head in a flash!⚡ ‘This should got to be a serious issue now.’ I thought. ‘Otherwise, this shop will not be closed for sure’. My mind stopped for a thought. My mother was phoning me throughout the day asking me to come home. And now undoubtedly it was the time to go home. But still my brother did not want to go home because of his tuitions. By the evening it was said that the classes were also stopped. So we decided to go home the following day after my classes. But that was also only for two days. 😐
Everything changed when we got home.👎 The situation was getting bad to worse. I did not even bring clothes from the boarding place because I was intending to get back sooner. But my brother so determined that he went back after a day. The very following day the government imposed the quarantine curfew. My mother was so furious about my brother.😡 But somehow for me it was crapped and trapped. I did not have much material to study since we were supposed to have mid exams of two subjects and I had already missed one mid exam, so I also had to sit for it. And I was also worried about the Cambridge exam that I am teaching to. But anyhow here I am at home for so long after such a long time.🤪
First and foremost we have to accept that this is a natural phenomenon. Man was immersed in a terrible hunger of manipulating the natural processes according to his wish. But the nature had proved man with evidence that he can not acquire the full control of nature. Man was successful in creating an unbalance in the environment. The pandemic can be considered as a measure taken by the nature itself to restore the natural equilibrium. Even if this virus was man made the creator might not have thought that this could spread to such a wide extent whole across the globe. Therefore it can be stated that even if the virus was man made, the spreading took place out of man’s control.🌱🐹🦎🌺
At this particular point, the matter to be tabled by us, as citizens under quarantine is not to investigate the cause but to investigate what can be accomplished by us in this time provided. It is obvious that we can not go out. But if we cannot go out we can go in. I am quite sure many of us are well aware of what is happening around throughout the globe but we are not still clearly aware of us. We can use this chaotic time for this precious effort. We all can reflect on ourselves which is essential for the development for a personality. You will definitely find new skills in you. You will be able to strengthen your capabilities. It will eventually build the mental platform for self-improvement and self realization. ☑️
It was revealed that many people have found new talents and abilities in them during this period of time. Many girls have mastered the art of cookery. And the men have become talented farmers irrespective of their profession and field of study. Emerging of poets, writers and artist had also become a usual occurrence. So anyone can utilize this time to unleash their hidden talents and awaken their potential. 👍💪
And also the write up would not certainly be completed if the heroes of the day are not acknowledged. Amongst all the difficulties the medical staff and the security personnel are working around the clock, putting their own lives at a risk in order to bring relief to mankind. I wish them all good health and protection. And for the first people had got opportunity to serve the human race by just being at home. So we should thank everyone who stay and contribute to control the pandemic. 🙏🙏
I expected a break but not a break like this. Therefore this is something ‘expected but unexpected’. Finally though this time period is so ruthless, this is a time for change and upliftment.☑️💪👍💯
